Rahman Khan (pronounced Rock-mon Kon) is a seasoned executive in strategic philanthropy, external affairs, community engagement and diversity and inclusion. He has a solid track record of improving communities and leveraging his work to meet the needs of business stakeholders.

Rahman currently serves as Group Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications, leading its strategic philanthropic and employee engagement programs under the Spectrum brand. In this role, he develops and executes the company’s mission to improve communities. He led the 2021 launch of Charter’s largest-ever philanthropic program, Spectrum Community Assist, a $30 million five-year effort to revitalize local community centers and invest in job training programs. Through this program, Rahman is spearheading work to create 100 Spectrum Training and Technology Centers in urban and rural communities over the next five years, with each center slated to receive Charter’s advanced 1-gigabit internet service at no cost.

To help address the digital divide, Rahman led the development of a grant program, Spectrum Digital Education, to help seniors and families understand the benefits of broadband and how to use it to improve their lives. To date, this program has committed over $9M to local community organizations to nearly 100 nonprofits, helping to create more than 25,000 digital education classes.

Before moving to the NYC metro area, Rahman spent more than 20 years in Charlotte, NC, serving as Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Time Warner Cable; founding GoodWorks Media Group, where he served as executive producer and host of a PBS station WTVI talk show focused on giving back to the community, “GoodWorks with Rahman Khan”; and pioneering and heading the first diversity and inclusion at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Rahman received his business and graduate education degrees from Florida A&M University, where he also joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is a graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program, held at its partner institution, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Currently, he serves on the board of the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals (ACCP).

Rahman is a sought-after speaker, program host and facilitator, and has numerous personal and professional awards. Rahman’s Community Impact team’s work also helped Charter receive recognition from the State of Connecticut and the Los Angeles City Council, and garnered honors such as the Workplace Hero Award from the American Red Cross – Northeast, the inaugural Social Impact Award presented by industry HR organization C2HR, and the Community Builder Award from housing revitalization nonprofit Rebuilding Together.
